Cantatas, Oratorios, and Special Musical Offerings
The church ensembles at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church continue to inspire and elevate the worship experience through their masterful performances of larger works including Bach’s Cantatas and a diverse selection of period and contemporary chamber works. This artistic excellence is made possible through the generous support of the Friends of Music at St. Paul’s, whose dedication to fostering musical excellence ensures that these timeless works are heard and appreciated by our congregation and community alike.

Martin Luther once wrote “Next to the Word of God, music is God’s greatest gift.” We are blessed at St. Paul’s church to have an outstanding music ministry led by our Director of Choral Activities and Organist Caleb Bates.
The St. Paul’s Choir, the church’s primary choral ensemble, consists of professional section leaders and volunteers. The choir sings at the 10:30 am Service each Sunday. Hymns and service music are drawn principally from the Evangelical Lutheran Worship hymnal, and supplemented by selections from other Lutheran and ecumenical musical resources. The choir has long been known for the excellence of its choral offerings in the Lutheran tradition, from cantata and chant through to Rutter and Stephen Paulus.
The St. Paul’s Choir sings Sunday mornings, September to Trinity Sunday, and at special services and concerts during the year and performs a wide range of music.
We are always open to increasing the choir’s membership to people of all musical abilities: if you enjoy singing and socializing with other musicians, please contact our Director of Choral Activities, Caleb Bates.
