ALMSGIVING DURING LENT

We have entered the holy season of Lent, a 40‑day journey of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving that begins on Ash Wednesday and concludes at sundown on Holy Thursday. During these weeks, we walk with Jesus toward the cross, preparing our hearts to celebrate the joy of the Resurrection at Easter. Lent invites us into repentance, reflection, and sacrificial giving as we remember the immeasurable love Christ has shown us.

As part of this year’s Lenten discipline, we invite you to consider a special gift above and beyond your regular offering.

You might choose:

  • $2 a day for the 40 days of Lent ($80 total)

  • $20 a week for the six weeks of Lent ($120 total)

  • A one‑time gift of $200 or $2,000 to support the ministries of St. Paul’s

  • Or any amount that fits your family’s budget and represents a meaningful act of almsgiving.

Every gift—large or small—strengthens the work we share and helps sustain the ministries that proclaim hope in a weary world.

Please take a Lenten Alms Jar and return it by Easter Sunday (April 5th). Together, may our giving become a sign of gratitude, faith, and love in this sacred season.

Pastor's Lenten Poem...

Lent is a time of reflection

When we walk Jesus’ path of rejection

The journey is all the way to the cross

Where the human life of Jesus is loss

During this time, we give alms, pray, and fast

Ask for forgiveness for the things we have done present and past

A special congregational gift this season

Will help our ministries and for another reason

To say thank you to God above

For the gift of Jesus and God’s unconditional love.

Pledge your support to St. Paul's Today!

We invite every member of St. Paul’s to make a pledge for the coming year. Together, we’re aiming for 80% participation—96 households—by December 14.

Your pledge—no matter the amount—supports vital ministries, keeps our building welcoming and accessible, and sustains the spirit of generosity and care that makes our church community so special. If you pledged last year, we hope you’ll renew your

commitment, perhaps with a small increase if you’re able. If you’re new to pledging, we warmly encourage you to join us. We understand that some may need to reduce their giving due to personal circumstances, and want you to know your presence and support are deeply valued. Every pledge helps us build a vibrant future together. Pledge cards have been mailed and are also

available at church; please return yours by December 14. Thank you for being part of this journey and for all you do to keep St. Paul’s strong, loving, and full of hope.
